If it’s a teardrop on the cheek of eternity (Tagore), then it must have been hanging on that cheek for 370 years. Transient it is not. Eternal it is not. Built out of love and sorrow, the love and sorrow only last as long as the mourner/builder. Beyond that, should the beholders pity the emperor? Or should they envy the queen.
As we breathe, some people are born, some people are dying and the majority of those greedy for material possessions struggling in between birth and death seem oblivious of the inevitable outcome. Beyond 50, every new day is a bonus, a blessing. Don’t waste time on the futile and fruitless.
The fewer mistakes someone makes, the higher we value his expertise. But what did he have to do to get there? Everyone makes mistakes in the course of learning. Those who somehow manage to hide their mistakes command the most respect and confidence from the ignorant public.
