楊林 – 把今生忘掉

Judging from Yang Lin’s age in the MV, this must be an old song. I only knew that Andy Lau sang it.

This song can be interpreted in many ways. I would interpret it as lovers messing up or facing insurmountable issues in their relationship and when one of them tragically departs, the surviving other regrets and hopes to make amends and start anew in their next lives. In situations like this, we all hope there would be a next life, but will we forget the lessons learned and make even more mistakes the next time? This theme is explored in my second novel Like a Dewdrop.

Never knew that Yang Lin also sang it so differently and sang it so well.
